I’ve always been a fan of Christmas, but this year I’ve gone full-on festive – I’m not sure what it is, I’m just obsessed with the seasonal fun this December!
I thought this would be a weird one, as it’s the first Christmas since we sold our family home. We’ve spent the last 15 Christmas’s there, and even the years before that, we’ve always spent it in a home. This year I’ll be spending the festive season on my parent’s boat in Portugal – I mean, I can’t really complain, can I? It’ll be awesome, but so different to what we’re used to!
I wanted to share some of the festive spirit in this roundup post, so I’ve put together a little fun update for you…
01. I’m doing Vlogmas this year for the first time, and I’ve actually really been enjoying it! I’m not forcing myself, if I miss a day it won’t be the end of the world (there’s so many other bloggers/vloggers doing it, so it’s not like it’s a big deal to skip a day!) so I think that’s why I’m enjoying it so much.
I thought it would be a good way to be a little more festive, and maybe even encourage me to leave the house in this hideous stormy weather we’ve been having, but actually I’ve enjoyed just staying in and prepping for the festivities!

02. Last night we put our tree up which was super fun, and we made boozy Christmas cocktails while we unpacked the decorations. Our tree is actually looking pretty colourful this year, and I really like it. It’s looking a bit bare as there’s no presents underneath just yet, but hopefully I’ll get round to doing that tonight.
I’ve been to Paperchase SO many times to get little bits and bobs, and I’m already considering another trip…
03. I’m planning the biggest, baddest Lush haul today, I’m up early and feeling excited! I’ve let my Lush stash run really low, which is unlike me. I definitely need some more bubblebars and bath bombs in my life, and I think I’ll pick up some gift sets for the ladies in my life too. Jordan has recently discovered Lush, so we seem to spend so much time in there picking out lovely scented bath picks. Heaven!
04. The kitchen is very nearly done! I can’t believe we’ve lived without a kitchen for nearly a month, it’s just insane. We have worktops in, but nothing is connected up yet (except the washing machine and the freezer) and it’s starting to take shape. It was meant to be done today but I feel that’s very optimistic!
Once the kitchen is completed, I’m going to spend so much of my time organising and cooking! I’m planning a few Christmas recipes for blog posts, so keep your peepers peeled!
05. Mouse is meant to be coming home tomorrow, after a good few weeks without her! She went to stay with my little brother, five minutes down the road. She’s been reunited with big Tigger, and they seem to be getting along well. We haven’t seen her much because it seems to unsettle her a little if we’re there, so we’ve just given her some space to live her liiiife.
I’m excited to show her the new kitchen, and we’ve put some kitty pressies under the tree to welcome her home! We’ve missed her so much, we can’t stop talking about how excited we are to have her back.
